The £50,000 has been awarded to the Shaftesbury Swimming Pool project, thanks to everyone that voted. Please visit this page regularly to check on the progress of the project.

The votes are in and Shaftesbury Community Swimming Pool in Dorset is celebrating its win today in the People's Millions Contest after viewers across the West ITV region voted them winners of a Big Lottery Fund £50,000 award.

The group is among the third round of winners in this ground-breaking initiative between the Big Lottery Fund and ITV who have teamed up to bring viewers the People's Millions, giving the public a direct say on where lottery funding will go to benefit local communities.

Shaftesbury Community Swimming Pool will use the winnings to purchase a telescopic enclosure for the local outdoor swimming pool. This semi-permanent cover will extend the swimming season and support a wider range of users.
